What is insider threat?

What is the inside threat?
A few months ago, I noticed certain changes in me – I had difficulties breathing while exercising, tired easily, and felt less energetic. After some medical exams my physician met with me and told me that I am “a very sick person, your right coronary artery is 90% blocked”. Three days later I underwent a catheterization and the artery was reopened.
I was shocked! I had an agreement with my body – I work out routinely and eat healthy food and in return my body will keep healthy and happy. I felt betrayed. I did not notice that over a long period of several years an enemy was operating within me, slowly, maliciously, and methodically working to destroy me, leading me on a certain path to a massive heart attack or even worse.
My own, personal inside threat.
Well, I am not alone:
60% of all attacks on organizations were conducted by employees!
Of these a staggering 44.5% were malicious and intended to harm the organization!
58% of companies surveyed reported insider attacks in the last 12 months!
For 70% of the attackers this was their first offense!
A typical attacker will operate for an average of two and a half years!
If this is such a big threat how come so little is done about it, especially in comparison to the huge investment in outside threats?
Two reasons:
Companies have a need to trust their employees.
Technological solutions are often limited as the malicious employee is aware of them and know how “to work with them”.
Engard offers a new and groundbreaking solution – using cutting edge, research-based profiling we can accurately identify the personality structures that are closely associated with malicious insider threats. Once identified, several solutions are offered.
So please, stay healthy and consult your physician regularly and contact us to avoid and eliminate inside threats to your company.
